KONE Nederland, market leader in People Flow Solutions, and the Kranenburg Group, market leader in both standardized and sustainable and energy-generating facade maintenance systems, have established an exclusive partnership. From 1 January 2012 Kone will take responsibility for the sale of Kranenburg Groups products. The development, production and assembly of the installations will be carried out by the Kranenburg Group.
KONE is active in the façade maintenance and lift sector. In 2005, after the takeover of Lalesse, KONE actively started with brand-independent maintenance of facade maintenance systems. In 2006 KONE acquired Borga Bijstede, this enabled them to expand in the construction and replacement market. Now, 5 years later, Kone is an important player in this market with increasing construction and replacement assignments and a yearly growing maintenance portfolio.
Both parties have a clear vision on the integration of sustainability. KONE conducts a worldwide eco-efficient policy, from purchase to production, from installation to maintenance. “Installations need to contribute to the preservation of a building and the careful use of energy. The Kranenburg Group has focused on the 350 days a year that the facade maintenance systems are not used. For instance, the Kranenburg Group delivers hybrid installations, which produce energy when they’re used but also when they’re not used”, according to Marco Schuurman, General Director of the Kranenburg Group.
“By joining forces with KONE, the Kranenburg Group is able to strengthen their market position. KONE has a nationwide sales and maintenance network. Building owners’ need to be independent of high platforms increases. Through the partnership with the Kranenburg Group, KONE will be increasingly able to respond to this trend”, according to Gerard van Dijk, Region Director of KONE.
The brand name of the Kranenburg Group Installaties will remain intact. From 1 January 2012, the assembly, engineering and calculation will take place from the Kranenburg Groups office in Nieuwkoop. KONE will take care of sales, services and project management from their office in Utrecht.
