Consultancy firm Linkin Business published on 08-11-2013 an article about research on 76 child care professionals and how they respond to new developments in the market.
It is a difficult time for child care, but also one that calls for courage and creativity. The study gives a good impression of how professionals in the sector respond to changing market conditions. The main measures to reduce costs can be divided into three categories: dimiss employees, closing locations and postponing investments. Less mentioned measures are cuts on marketing costs, renegotiated rent prices and a critical look at overhead costs.
Managers even seem to have more diverse and creative solutions to increase the turnover level. This shows that integral child care centres are inevitable. This moves managers in the sector to search for more collaborations; 23.1% collaborated with schools and 11% merged or started collaboration with other child care organizations.
