Cloud-native specialist Weave sells shares to web hosting company Mijndomein
Weave, the Rotterdam specialist in cloud-native software development, has acquired its shares sold to Mijndomein, the domain registration platform for small businesses. Match Plan guided founders Stephan Plat and Peter-Jan Karens through the entire sales process. With the acquisition, both parties are joining forces to further develop innovative platform services.
Cloud-native innovation
Combining Weave's expertise in scalable, cloud-native applications with Mijndomein's extensive customer base and infrastructure creates direct benefits for both parties. Weave can roll out new features faster through Mijndomein's hosting platform, while Mijndomein benefits from Weave's technical expertise to enhance the performance and reliability of its services. Together, they create added value and a strengthened product portfolio.
Founders Stephan Plat and Peter-Jan Karens will remain with Weave in their roles as CEO and CTO. The acquisition allows Weave to embark on its next growth phase within a broader platform ecosystem, while Stephan and Peter-Jan are given the opportunity to pursue new business opportunities.
Platform strengthening through smart integration
The complete takeover deepens a relationship that began in 2019 with a minority stake. Instead of standalone propositions, combined solutions are now emerging: shared hosting with intelligent autoscaling, smart-energy modules integrated into Weave architecture, and shared-mobility services that benefit from automated back-end processes. This synergy enables Mijndomein to diversify its service offering, while Weave gains access to a broader market segment and additional growth opportunities.
