Hoppinger strengthens its position as a digital partner with the acquisition of software specialist Thesio
With the takeover The acquisition of Thesio strengthens Hoppinger's sector focus, expands its software engineering expertise, and adds expertise in mobile and native digital solution development. The merger creates a strong team of around 100 digital professionals. The transaction is part of Hoppinger's strategy and underscores its ambition to be the partner for digital growth and innovation in the Netherlands.
Digital strategy and software development
Hoppinger, based in Rotterdam and Amsterdam, has been active as a strategic digital partner for over 25 years. The agency develops digital platforms, websites, portals, and apps with a focus on user-friendly design, smart integrations, and scalable solutions.
Thesio, headquartered in Utrecht (De Bilt), specializes in custom software. It supports organizations with product development, DevOps, and managed services, and develops sustainable, scalable, and user-friendly applications that are used daily by thousands of end users.
The acquisition brings together these areas of expertise and lays the foundation for further digital transformation. “There is a shared vision on digital impact, with mutual complementarity in terms of sector knowledge and expertise,” according to Gerard Pastwa, CEO of Hoppinger.
Thesio also sees the acquisition as an opportunity to accelerate its ambitions. Stronger together in digital transformation
The partnership combines digital strategy and technical expertise, offering clients a broader range of services and greater scalability. Redmer de Vries of Thesio will join Hoppinger's board as Commercial Director. Thesio will operate independently for the time being, while working towards a gradual, optimal integration over time.
The role of Match Plan
Match Plan guided Hoppinger through the entire acquisition process, with the exception of financing. The team was responsible for designing and structuring the bidding, the commercial and legal negotiations, the coordination of the due diligence process and the notarial settlement. The deal team consisted of Lucas Troelstra, Matthias Duijzer, Rens Knevels, Rowin van Dieren, and Tim Struijs.
