Propylon finds a suitable partner for the next growth phase in Entara.

Propylon, specialist in employment mediation within the construction industry, joins at Entara. With the acquisition, Propylon gains room to grow further, while the company continues to operate under its own name. For founder Ben Rosenkamp, the transaction simultaneously offers a suitable solution for the succession of the company he has built since 1997.

Employment agency for construction engineers

Ben founded Propylon in 1997 from his attic room. Since then, the company has grown into a specialist in finding and placing professionals for the construction industry. That clear commitment to the construction sector still forms the foundation of the company.

With his retirement in mind, Ben began thinking about the future of Propylon. His children were involved in the company as shareholders and in operations, but had no ambition to take over the business. This raised the question of what form of succession would best suit Propylon and the people who work there.

Entara as a suitable partner for the next phase

That succession was found in Entara. Under the leadership of Pepijn Kooiman, Entara is building a group of specialized companies within employment mediation. With its strong focus on construction, Propylon forms a good addition to this group. At the same time, Propylon continues to operate under its own name, thereby maintaining its recognizable position in the market.

A key role also remains reserved for General Manager Jozua Nahumury. He remains responsible for the day-to-day management of Propylon and has become a co-shareholder as part of the transaction. In this way, he is actively shaping the next phase of Propylon.

Match Plan Guidance

Match Plan initially became involved with Propylon for a business valuation and the guidance of a possible management buy-out process. During the process, the decision was ultimately made to take a broader look at succession options and to start a sales process.

Match Plan guided Ben and the other shareholders throughout the entire process, from valuation and sale preparation to negotiations and the final completion of the transaction.

“Propylon has built a strong position within the construction industry over nearly thirty years. In the search for a suitable successor, it was therefore important not only to look at the transaction itself, but also at the further development of the company. With Entara, a party has been found that aligns with this. At the same time, Jozua remains closely involved in the future of Propylon as Managing Director and co-shareholder.” says Phil van Mulken, Senior Consultant M&A.
